The survey questionnaire is one important sources of non sampling error therefore it must be designed and implemented in order to reduce it. This session will collect papers about new methodological developments and practical experiences on the design, implementation and testing of survey questionnaires. In particular the following topics will be treated:

- New methods for questionnaire design and how they are applied according to data collection techniques.

- Studies of the effects of different layout, of different questions wording and structures, of the questionnaire length. These studies should take into consideration the data collection techniques also used in a mixed way.

- The definition of a testing strategy especially for electronic questionnaires which required distinct testing phases (before and after the electronic implementation). How results for tests are used to improve the questionnaire.

- Questionnaire design and testing for business surveys where there is a lack of documented experiences.
