Emotional Intelligence Research
Planned on Friday, 11:00 - 13:00 in Room 1.4.
Coordinators:
- Joan Manuel Batista-Foguet; ESADE, Universitat Ramon Llull, Spain
Description:
Emotional intelligence has raised passion and criticism. Practitioners as well as researchers are excited with the potential of the emotional abilities on helping to face challenges. However, the emotional intelligence construct is also pointed by its controversies. Therefore, its investigation and the efforts on better conceptualizing, operationalizing and measuring EI are of great importance for the advancement of the field. Parallel, applied researches that focus on the relationship between Emotional and Social competencies with other constructs and its effects on organizational settings are providing inspiring ideas to the theoretical propositions. This process can be undoubtedly enriched by the sharing of experiences of the people who work in the field. We hope that the ESRA Conference, through the track on Emotional Intelligence, will be a space for that and will help to bring out insights, suggestions and advancements. We look forward to explore with you the full potential of the emotional intelligence construct.
